Teaching Assistant (SEMH Support) – Full Time
Location: Colne, Lancashire
Contract: Full-time, term-time only

Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join our secondary school team, providing vital support for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs, both in and outside the classroom.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions.
  • Help pupils develop social and emotional skills, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teachers and pastoral staff.
  • Support the wider inclusion team in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
  • Contribute to school life, promoting inclusion and celebrating success.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience of working with young people, ideally within an educational or SEMH setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance from teachers and SENCO.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
