Teaching Assistant Level 2 (Full-Time) – September 2026 Start

Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only + INSET Days

Teaching Assistant Level 2

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our supportive team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced TA who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a particular focus on students who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience supporting pupils in KS3 and KS4.
  • Significant experience working with students who have EHCPs.
  • Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive educational practices.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient and nurturing approach.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs or speech and language difficulties.
  • Experience implementing intervention programmes.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support to pupils with EHCPs in lessons and during intervention sessions.
  • Adapt learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff to meet individual needs.
  • Promote pupil engagement, independence and confidence.
  • Assist with the implementation and review of EHCP outcomes and support strategies.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEND staff.
  • Support positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
