Job Description
Job Duties:
As a General Secondary Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing student behaviour.
- Providing one-to-one support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
- Assisting with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Supervising students during breaks and outdoor activities.
- Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for working with young people and supporting their educational development.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Education:
A minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths is required. Further relevant education or training in the field of education is desirable.
Experience:
Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
- Basic knowledge of the national curriculum and educational practises.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications in special educational needs (SEN) or experience working with SEN students would be advantageous.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time permanent position, expected to work during school hours on weekdays. The role is based in Wimbledon, Greater London. The salary ranges from £85 to £110 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
