Secondary Teaching Assistant in Lincoln

A specialist academy in the Lincoln area is looking to appoint Teaching Assistant to work as a Teaching Assistant within their secondary classes, to support students with Autism and Social Emotional Mental Health. If successful, the role will continue until the end of the academic year. You will be responsible for helping to increase engagement within the classroom and often provide 1:1 behaviour intervention for those struggling to cope in the classroom.

An ideal candidate will have:

-Experience working in a similar environment

-Experience of supporting challenging behaviour in a care background

-Excellent behaviour management skills

-De-escalation training

Often these pupils can feel overlooked due to their exclusions, so we are looking for someone with a nurturing approach to help them grow in confidence, both inside and outside classroom. The students follow a flexible curriculum including core subjects, worked towards their GCSEs.
