The student has Special Educational Needs (SEN) and requires personalised support to help them develop academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a one-to-one tutoring role that involves creating tailored lessons to suit the student’s specific learning style, while ensuring that their SEN needs are met in a calm, supportive, and structured environment.

The student has Special Educational Needs, including challenges with attention, focus, and communication.
-
They benefit from individualised support, with lessons that are broken down into smaller, manageable tasks.
-
They may have emotional or behavioural needs that require a nurturing, patient approach.
-
A calm, flexible, and encouraging tutor will be most effective in supporting their progress.
-
Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with conditions such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or other learning difficulties. -
A calm, empathetic, and patient approach that helps build trust and encourages progress.
-
Experience creating individualised learning plans and using a variety of teaching strategies, including visual aids, hands-on activities, and sensory tools.
-
Excellent communication skills, both with the student and their family, to provide regular updates and feedback on progress.
-
Enhanced DBS check (current or willingness to obtain one).
-
Relevant teaching qualifications such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent are beneficial but not essential. -
Specific training in SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia) is highly desirable.
-
Experience working in one-to-one or small group settings with children with additional needs.
-
Familiarity with specific SEN strategies, such as scaffolding, visual learning, or behaviour management techniques.
-
Plan and deliver individualised lessons to meet the student’s specific learning needs. -
Use a variety of SEN teaching strategies to engage the student and support their learning.
-
Monitor the student’s progress and provide regular feedback to the family on areas of improvement and development.
-
Foster confidence and self-esteem in the student through positive reinforcement and encouragement
