My priority Secondary SEMH School in Bolton are seeking a Teaching Assistant who has pervious experience of supporting young people who display challenging behaviours. The school caters for pupils who have education health care plans.
Experience:
- Knowledge and experience of delivering workshops and training for young people
- Experience of developmental work with young people
- Experience of supporting participatory, young person led group work
- Experience of monitoring and evaluating programmes
- Can evidence partnership/multi agency working
- Experience of working in the youth sector
- Experience developing and building strong relationships with young people
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of issues affecting young people
- Understand the need to ensure young people are involved in decision making and are represented at all levels of engagement
- An understanding of the purpose and methods of youth work delivery
- Confident in facilitating a group of young people on their own.
- Understanding of health and safety.
- Flexibility/adaptability.
- Negotiating skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
