Behaviour Support Assistant (Secondary) – Full-Time | RCT (CF Postcodes)
Pay: £89.38 per day (£13.75 per hour)

We are looking for dedicated Behaviour Support Assistants (sometimes known as Behaviour Mentors or Behaviour Officers) to work across multiple secondary schools in the RCT area. You’ll play a key role in supporting students who need extra help with behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in school.

No formal qualifications are required – if you have transferable skills, resilience, and a passion for supporting young people, we’d love to hear from you.

You must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle, with a willingness to travel to multiple school sites in RCT

What the Role Involves:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups with motivation, focus, and emotional regulation

  • De-escalating challenging situations with calm professionalism

  • Delivering positive behaviour interventions and mentoring

  • Helping to implement and monitor behaviour support plans

  • Encouraging learners to re-engage with their education and routines

  • Travelling between and supporting multiple schools across the RCT area


About You:

We’re looking for individuals who are:

  • Strong communicators with excellent de-escalation skills

  • Patient, approachable, and resilient in high-pressure situations

  • Aware of the challenges young people face in education

  • Experienced in youth work, residential care, sports coaching, or similar roles (school experience is helpful but not essential)

  • Passionate about helping students grow both emotionally and academically

  • Able to drive and have access to their own vehicle, with a willingness to travel to multiple school sites in RCT


What You’ll Need:

  • EWC registration (School Learning Support Worker category)

  • Enhanced DBS (Update Service)

  • Two recent references
