Scince teacher needed for Basigstoke Secondary School

You must be Passionate about teaching and able to promote the benefits of learning the sciences to the students. We would require you to be able to lead lessons, set and mark coursework, and become a part of the school community representing and working within the ethos the school holds. The classes would be both KS3 and KS4 and would be under your control, you may be required to liaise with teaching assistants and technicians and will be expected to behave respectfully and professionally throughout your career here.

The ideal teacher would have:

  • A proven track record for improving attainment preferably with statistics to back this up
  • A passionate and positive attitude towards teaching and the ability to encourage students to have this attitude to learning
  • The ability to commit to what could become a permanent position

The school holds itself in high regard and will only accept the highest quality of candidate. The school is based in Basingstoke and is rated "Needs Improvement" by Ofsted however they have said "Senior leaders and managers are bringing about rapid improvements in teaching behaviour and achievement, particularly in Key Stage 4. The academy has good capacity to continue to improve." Our other teachers who have worked there have all said that they have enjoyed the work there, as well as the pupils and would recommend others to work there. It has great transport links with a local train station, regular bus contact near by, and being situated just off the M3.
