If so we are looking for you!

This opportunity is for a Science Technician to work on a temporary basis from September 2019 - December 2019.

This 'Outstanding' school is a high attaining; semi-rural- popular school located in South Derbyshire area of Burton upon Trent.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this outstanding team as a Science Technician.

You will be working for an 'Outstanding' OFSTED registered school in the DE13 area of South Derbyshire.

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with this school to find the perfect Science technician to help support their Science teachers and students alike.

Responsibilities:

  • HNC/ HND in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemistry related subject
  • Good scientific knowledge, literacy and numeracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills with practical approach
  • Previous experience in consumer product development/ technical services
  • Experience working in commercial laboratory environment
  • Good working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point etc, particularly preparation of spreadsheets, presentations and written reports

The Person:

  • You will have experience of working with children or young people with a variety of learning and medical needs.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be confident in using computers.
  • You must have good communication, literacy and numeracy skills and be flexible in your approach.
  • You must have the ability to relate to young people.
  • You will have appropriate qualifications or an interest in Science (GCSE/A Level or equivalent in Science subject(s) and/or demonstrate an interest in Science

The successful candidate will be technically knowledgeable, well organised with excellent administration and managerial skills, familiar with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations and have a flexible approach to work. This post would suit either an experienced Science Technician or a Science Graduate with experience working in and managing a laboratory.
