Full-time Science teacher required to cover a 12 month Maternity leave from September 2019.

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large mixed comprehensive secondary school near to the Worsley region of Salford. Due to an upcoming Maternity leave within the Science department, the school wish to appoint a full-time Science teacher from September 2019.

Science teachers applying for this role will be joining a strong and supportive Science department that will offer support to any staff member that is looking to join the school. (NQT's encouraged to apply also.)

The timetable will be teaching Chemistry or Biology to KS3 and GCSE level and candidates that can teach another area of Science as well as their specialist subject have been highlighted as highly desirable.

Our client secondary school has made massive improvements in recent months and the Deputy Headteacher is looking to appoint an ambitious Science teacher who is confident in their ability to help raise standards within the school.

Job Summary;

  • Science teacher - 12 month Maternity cover from September 2019.
  • Competitive pay in line with MPS/UPS standards £23,720 - £39,406.
  • Full planning and marking responsibilities included.
  • Must be able to teach Chemistry or Biology at GCSE level.
  • Salford location, accessible via the A580 and M60 motorway.

Our client school;

The successful Science teacher will be joining a school where the proportion of disadvantaged pupils is significantly higher than the national average and most pupils are of White British heritage. The proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language is also lower than the national average compared to other secondary schools nationwide.

The school is situated in the Worsley area of Salford and is in an excellent location if you are travelling via public transport. If commuting by car then the school has on-site car parking and can be found just a short drive away from the A580 (East Lancashire Road). This is a small secondary school in comparison to other secondary schools in the area and currently has 700 pupils on roll.
