Science Teacher – Secondary School – Shaftesbury
Full-Time | Permanent | Start Date: April

A vibrant, forward‑thinking secondary school in Shaftesbury, Dorset is looking for an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their dynamic Science department. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher or a motivated ECT eager to begin their career in a school that values curiosity, high expectations, and continuous development.


The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will:
• Deliver motivating, well‑structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Support excellent student progress through engaging teaching and a rich curriculum
• Use assessment effectively to monitor understanding and guide planning
• Create an inclusive, stimulating learning environment where all learners can succeed
• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental improvement
• Take an active role in wider school activities, clubs, and enrichment opportunities

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:
• A qualified Science Teacher with QTS, or an ECT completing training
• Confident in teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 (any specialism welcome)
• Passionate about inspiring students and delivering engaging lessons
• Reflective, dedicated, and committed to continuous improvement
• Able to build strong relationships and motivate learners of all abilities


Requirements

• QTS (or working towards QTS)
• Strong subject knowledge in Science
• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare


This is a fantastic opportunity for a Science Teacher seeking to develop their career within a supportive and successful mainstream secondary school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
