Science Teacher – Secondary School – Dorchester
Full-Time | Permanent | Start Date: April
An ambitious and supportive secondary school in Dorchester, Dorset, is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join their vibrant Science department. This is a great opportunity for an experienced practitioner or an enthusiastic ECT looking to develop their career in a collaborative and forward‑thinking environment.
The Role
As a Science Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and well‑structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Inspire curiosity, critical thinking and scientific enquiry
- Use assessment effectively to monitor student progress and plan targeted support
- Create an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment that promotes achievement for all
- Contribute to curriculum development within a strong, supportive Science team
- Take part in whole‑school initiatives and enrichment activities

Ideal Candidate Profile
You will be:
- A qualified Science Teacher with QTS (or a trainee/ECT close to completion)
- Confident teaching across KS3 and KS4 (any specialism welcome)
- A strong communicator with secure subject knowledge
- Someone who sets high expectations and engages students effectively
- A reflective practitioner who enjoys working as part of a team
- Able to build positive relationships with learners of all abilities
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum
- Ability to teach KS3 & KS4
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
