Science Teacher required for a catholic school in Whiston, Merseyside for a September start.

  • Full-time Science teacher.
  • Required from September 2020.
  • Covering a maternity leave.
  • Paid to teaching scale (GBP24,373-GBP40,490).

Our client secondary school in Whiston are currently looking for a Science teacher for a permanent position in September 2020.

The incoming teacher will be expected to take on full planning and marking responsibilities alongside teaching a full timetable across Key Stage 3 and GCSE. The successful candidate will need to deliver differentiated Science lessons to pupils at varying levels of learning ability. It will also be important to promote positive behaviour management in line with the school behaviour policies to ensure all students stay on task. Some children may have learning diffuclties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia resulting in them requiring additional guidance in order to meet their target grades.

Applications are being considered from both newly qualified and experienced Science teachers. The incoming teacher must have QTS and a subject specialism in one of the three main Sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Biology). Any previous experience supporting low attaining pupils with learning difficulties is desirable however not essential as all support will be provided.

The school is located in Whiston and is easily accessible via the M62 and from surronding areas of Greater Manchester/Prescot/St Helens and Liverpool for candidates with their own transport. For applicants on public transport, the school is located close by to several public transport links from neighbouring areas.
