Due to a larger than usual incoming Year 7 cohort, our client secondary are looking to expand their Science department and would like to appoint a suitably qualified and skilled teacher in September.

Details about the school

Situated on the border of Manchester and Oldham, our client secondary school is a large, established secondary which has served the students of the local communities such as Hollinwood, New Moston and Copster Hill. With over 1500 students on roll, the school is larger than average but still maintains a community feel and an environment which is conducive to learning. The school has recently moved into a successful academy trust and are hoping this change will bring about further progress to the already successful outcomes in recent years.

Requirements of the position

As this position is for Secondary Science, the school have requested that all applicants hold a PGCE or relevant teaching based qualification specialising in a Scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Biology and Physics along with holding experience delivering across Key Stages 3 and 4. As this position is due to a gap, the successful Science teacher will be expected to plan and mark schemes of work, along with delivering lessons across the year groups. The school are open to all levels of applicants, including those who are Science NQTs as a comprehensive support programme and NQT induction can be accommodated in the department.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
