Science Teacher Job (Northampton)

Full-time Science teacher required on a 12 month basis for a co-educational Secondary school located in Northampton from September 2019.

With a member of staff set to take maternity leave from August 2019, this mixed comprehensive Secondary school wish to appoint a skilful Science teacher to join their dedicated team in the new academic year.   • Full-time Science teacher required to cover a maternity leave, from September 2019.
  • Must hold subject specific degree level qualification or equivalent within a relevant Science.
  • Both experienced and newly qualified Science teachers are welcome to apply as relevant support and induction will be provided.
  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted rated 'Good' Secondary School.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23,720 - £39,406.

The school boast newly refurbished Science laboratories and classrooms well equipped with contemporary resources including; practical equipment, interactive Smart Boards and IPads. The department consists of six Science teachers and a Head of Science/ Assistant Head. As the incoming Science Teacher you can expect to join a well resourced department with friendly and supportive colleagues happy to go the extra mile. Exam results in the department have continued to improve in recent years with pupils achieving results in line with the national average.

The responsibilities for the incoming Science teacher will include;

  • To lead a full time table delivering inventive Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils. There may be an opportunity to teach your specialism within Science at A Level. Planning, preparing and evaluating all class work is required.
  • To effectively teach the National curriculum within school teaching and learning policy.
  • Ensure the development of Schemes of Work, resources, teaching and learning strategies; contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of all pupils.
