We are working closely with a Secondary School situated in Luton, easily accessible from Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes. This is a large Secondary School hosting over 1200 pupils and part of a nationwide successful Trust. They are recruiting for a Science Teacher to fill a gap for the Summer Term, with the view to continue if the school is the right fit.

The role would involve teaching Science predominantly to Year 7 - Year 11 GCSE classes (KS3/4). A Science Teacher with at least 1 year experience teaching Science to GCSE is essential.

Contract

On this full-time contract, you will be treated like a permanent member of staff with access to all CPD opportunities as well as PPA time included on your timetable. You would be expected to plan, mark and deliver Science lessons to your timetabled devised of KS3 and KS4 classes with PPA time included. You must arrive no later than 8:15am and finish at 15:10pm. 

Pay

You would be paid to the National Teacher Pay Scale salary between M1 - UPS1 on a daily rate equivalent.

The ideal candidate we would like to speak to will possess:

  • QTS or PGCE Science Qualification
  • Science Teacher with at least 1 years experience teaching up to KS4
  • Highly knowledgeable in GCSE Science curriculum
  • Be passionate about teaching Science and promoting learning in Science for excellent results
  • Good or Outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour
  • Be able to plan and deliver creative and stimulating Science lessons
