Science Teacher

Full-time Science teacher required from January 2020.

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a small secondary school in Bolton, aiding them with the recruitment of a Science teacher. Due to a member of staff going on maternity leave after the Christmas break, our client school are currently looking for a Science teacher to start from January 2020.

Our client school only contains 500 pupils and is know for its small sized classrooms. Candidates can expect to work with pupils at varying levels of learning ability and should be confident in teaching pupils who require some extra support. Our client school have requested that applicants should have a specialism in Chemistry however, experience with the subject at Key stage 3 and 4 will be acceptable.

• Full-time Science role starting as soon as possible until the end of the academic year.

• Must hold specific subject qualifications in Science.
• Pay in line with teaching scale point (GBP24,373 - GBP40,490 per annum).
• Teaching across Key Stage Three and GCSE across all three sciences; Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Working as a Science teacher in our client secondary school, will involve the following roles and responsibilities:

• Assessing and evaluating student’s progress and reporting this back to Senior Teachers in order to take appropriate action where needed.
• Planning, preparing and delivering Science lessons to meet the needs of individual students at various levels of learning.
• Promoting positive behaviour management in line with the school behaviour policies.
• Aiding pupils with learning difficulties and providing extra support when needed.

Application Requirements:

• Must have QTS alongside a subject specialism within Science.
• Any experience with challenging behaviour or learning difficulties is desired.
• Must have Chemistry as a specialism or have experience teaching Chemistry up to GCSE level.

Our client school is located in Bolton and is easily accessible via the A58 and A666 for candidates who have access to their own transport. For non-drivers, our client school can be accessed via public transport from several areas surrounding Greater Manchester.
