Science Teacher 

Location: Bedford

Job Type: Full Time Contract from 15th April - 19th July 2024 (permanent contract offer for the right candidate)

Pay: MPS or UPS (paid weekly and daily rate equivalent)

The Role: We are recruiting for a high-performing secondary school in Bedford and surrounding areas that is dedicated to providing exceptional education to its students. As part of a successful Trust, the Academy offers access to a wealth of CPD and support for all staff members.

The School: We are seeking a dynamic and motivated full-time Science Teacher to join our vibrant faculty. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on students' lives by nurturing their curiosity and unlocking their full potential in the fascinating world of Science.

The School is located in a quiet village near Bedford and is part of a large and successful Multi Academy Trust with an excellent network of schools operating successfully across the region with Ofsted Good and Outstanding results in Primary and Secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Science Department as a professional Science Teacher or Science Instructor.
  • Plan, mark, and deliver Science lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils.
  • Create and deliver engaging and innovative Science lessons that cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment in the classroom to instil a love for Science.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve academic excellence and support their progress and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and comprehensive Science curriculum.
  • Utilise modern teaching methods, technology, and practical experiments to enhance learning experiences.
  • Encourage student participation in extracurricular Science activities and competitions.

Requirements:

  • At least 1-2 years of teaching experience as a Science Teacher.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Expertise in teaching Science to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students (Key Stage 5 experience is a bonus).
  • A passion for science and a deep understanding of scientific principles.
  • Strong communication skills, both in the classroom and with colleagues and parents.
  • Dedication to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest educational practises.
