Science graduate Teaching Assistant- Wigan
Teaching Personnel are actively seeking Science graduates to work as Teaching Assistants in our client secondary schools in the Wigan LEA;
- Required to work in the Science department to provide cover for lessons
- Excellent opportunity to gain experience in a range of high achieving schools
- Perfect preparation prior to completing a PGCE in the future
- Full & part time positions available
As a Science graduate, you will be expected to use your specialist knowledge to provide cover in Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons. This will be through delivering pre-set work left by the teachers making sure the pupils are engaged/on task. You will also have to ensure that the behaviour of the pupils is managed accordingly.
The schools in the Wigan LEA are predominantly all high performing schools with the behaviour of the pupils considered to be good. This makes them the ideal environment to gain more experience in, especially if you are thinking of completing a PGCE in the future. The Catholic schools in the area have a 'schools direct' programme and are constantly looking for Science graduates to go onto completing their teacher training.
There will be work available across the area with most schools easily accessible on public transport also.
This is a very busy period for the cover requirements at the schools, so for immediate consideration, please send an updated CV to Paul via the link below or contact the Manchester West Secondary branch for further information.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
