Start Date: ASAP

Are you an organised, friendly and proactive individual looking for a varied role within a warm and supportive primary school? We are looking for a School Administrator to join a fantastic SEN primary school in Pontypridd — with the exciting added opportunity to support pupils and staff in the classroom as a Teaching Assistant when required.

If you enjoy multitasking, working with children, and being at the heart of a busy school community, this role could be perfect for you.

About the School

This inclusive SEN primary school, based across two well-resourced sites on the outskirts of Pontypridd, provides specialist support for pupils aged 3–19 with a diverse range of additional learning needs. The school is known for:

✨ It's nurturing, child‑centred ethos
✨ Exceptional teamwork and supportive leadership
✨ Strong relationships with families and external professionals
✨ A welcoming atmosphere where every member of staff feels valued

As part of this team, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring the school runs smoothly while supporting pupils’ learning and wellbeing.

About the Role

Your role will primarily focus on school administration, with additional opportunities to work as a Teaching Assistant during busy periods, staff absences or high‑need times.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm, professional reception service for parents, visitors, and pupils
  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and general school correspondence
  • Maintain and update pupil records and school databases
  • Support attendance monitoring and reporting
  • Assist with filing, document preparation, data entry, and general admin tasks
  • Liaise with staff, parents, and external agencies
  • Support SLT with organisational tasks and communications
  • Help coordinate meetings, appointments, and school events

Occasional Teaching Assistant Duties

  • Provide classroom support during staff shortages or high-need times
  • Assist pupils with SEN in their learning and daily routines
  • Support small-group work or 1:1 sessions under teacher direction
  • Help maintain a positive, calm, and inclusive classroom environment

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their role and wants to make a real difference both in the office and the classroom.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Is highly organised, efficient, and able to multitask
  • Communicates confidently and professionally
  • Is comfortable using Microsoft Office (SIMS experience desirable but not essential)
  • Handles confidential information with professionalism
  • Can work calmly in a busy school environment
  • Is warm, approachable, and a great team player
  • Is open to supporting pupils with SEN when required

Previous school admin or TA experience is beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.

Requirements
