Pupil safeguarding Assistant
Job description

A secondary school in Rhondda Cynon Taf is looking for a new team mate to join their highly successful behaviour provision in March. As the pandemic will have caused a lot of disruption in the lives of kids who need consistency and time to reflect on their actions the most, the school has sourced funding to put towards this department due to the growing conccerns of parents and carers who have not been able to implement a steady and engaging learning environment for the pupils during school closures.
Although the schools are open in some capacity - these pupils do not necessarily receive much support when it comes to their emotional, accademic, or social wellbeing, so the importance of them checking in with teachers is not necessarily instilled in them. What they need now, more than ever, is a positive adult role model who will help them integrate back into school life and be able to transition back into positive learning and daily structure.
The school is a new build so the facilities are incredible and there is no shortage of ways to reward pupils, but also there are many counselling areas, quiet rooms and therapy sections of the school that will allow these pupils to open up and attempt their school work without pressure from a mainstream environment. Although some of the pupils in this provision can cope with certain mainstream lessons, the majority have numeracy and literacy interventions mixed with key skills and more vocational subjects which allow a range of practical work and placements in the local area which are easily accessible to the kids.
The ideal candidate will be resilient and able to demonstrate some sort of experience with pupils from a tuition background, care background or coaching background. There are many transferrable qualities we look for in our teaching support staff so if you have not work specifically in a school before, please still get in touch as many of our best staff have been those who have been able to learn in the specific way of the school. Ultimately, a can-do attitude and the drive to make a difference in a child's life are the raw qualities the school and ourselves will be looking for.
GBP60-GBP70 a day
3 month probationary period through agency before transitioning onto perm school contract
Full time Monday - Friday 8:30-15:00
Access to CPD accredited courses
Dedicated Consultant to support you through your time in the school
