Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

A role has become available in South Manchester for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant at an Outstanding Ofsted rated secondary school. The post would require the candidate to work with Special Educational Needs (SEN) students within the college’s specific inclusive department. The age range of pupils is 11-18 and would primarily involve one to one work but may also require helping the class teacher with a variety of tasks for larger class groups. A psychology graduate who is confident within a classroom setting and has some experience of Teaching Assistant roles at a school/college age in the past is desirable but not essential. This would be an excellent role for a graduate who is considering a future career in the education sector and is looking for experience within the field. Some essential qualities for the candidate are:

• Must have a Psychology Degree/background knowledge within this area
• Must be competent with Literacy and Numeracy
• Be able to travel to South Manchester

The college is in an easy to access area of South Manchester that is accessible by both tram and bus meaning that commuting from other parts of Manchester is possible. It is an added bonus but by no means essential if the candidate has a driving license and access to a vehicle. Highlights of the role include:

The role has a start date of 3^rd January 2024 and would last for one full college term. Ideally candidates must be able to work full time Monday to Friday from approximately 8:30am to 3:30pm, however there is the possibility of part time – please highlight this on your application. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
