Science Graduate Teaching Assistant

A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Rochdale is looking for a passionate Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience, especially for those considering a future in teaching or a PGCE course.
Key Responsibilities:

Support students across KS3 and KS4 in Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics lessons.

Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to reinforce learning.
-
Assist teaching staff in preparing practical experiments and classroom resources.
-
Help maintain a safe, engaging, and well-organised science lab environment.
-
Monitor student progress and support classroom behaviour management strategies.
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Holds a degree in a science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or similar).
-
Has a keen interest in education and supporting young people.
-
Communicates clearly and confidently with students and staff.
-
Demonstrates initiative, patience, and strong organisational skills.
-
Experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, coaching) is an advantage but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
