Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant
Job description

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Rochdale is seeking a dedicated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an ideal opportunity for a graduate who is passionate about supporting young people and gaining hands-on classroom experience before pursuing further training.
Key Responsibilities:

Support students in and out of the classroom, including those with SEND and SEMH needs.

Work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored interventions and learning support.

Assist with behaviour management and help create a positive learning environment.

Provide 1:1 and small group support to help students reach their academic and emotional goals.

Help monitor student progress and contribute to planning and evaluation discussions.
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Holds a degree in Psychology or a related subject.
-
Has a genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their development.
-
Demonstrates patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
-
Is considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or counselling.
-
Previous experience working with children or young people (e.g., in schools, youth work, or care) is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
