Are you a recent Psychology Graduate looking for a Teaching Assistant role in a Secondary School?

Teaching Personnel are working alongside many Secondary schools across the area of Bury. Our client schools are always interested in recruiting Psychology Graduates as Teaching Assistants, due to the nature of the modules involved in a Psychology degree. Our client schools are currently looking to obtain several Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their dynamic team from September 2019.

A Teaching Assistant position is perfect for a recent Psychology Graduate who is hoping for a future career in Secondary teaching, as it will provide experience before entering into a teacher training programme.

  • Full-time and part-time Teaching Assistant positions available for September 2019.
  • Temporary positions until the end of the academic year 2020, with the possibility of this extending depending on success.
  • Psychology graduates are welcome to apply for this position.
  • Working alongside the class teacher, and supporting students in classes aged 11-16.
  • Possibility of covering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Gain some experience prior to beginning teacher training/PGCE.
  • Attractive rates of pay - earn up to £300 per week.
  • Opportunity to work with pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant within our client school, responsibilities will include:

  • Working 1:1 with identified pupils that require additional support within a range of subjects such as Maths and English.
  • Supporting the class teacher with students aged 11-16 ranging in levels of learning ability.
  • Helping to plan and deliver intervention sessions to raise overall pupil attainment.
  • Occasionally supporting students who have SEN inside and outside the classroom.

Located across Bury, our client schools can be accessed via the M66 and A58 from surrounding areas such as Bolton, Wigan and Salford for candidates with their own transport. For non-drivers, there are several forms of public transportation with links to the surrounding areas of Greater Manchester.

Psychology graduates are urged to apply for this position as soon as possible. For immediate consideration, please submit a full CV to Megan Knight. To obtain further information, please contact the Manchester West Secondary Office on the contact number provided below;
