We are recruiting for a role in Cwmbran to support a pupil with an additional learning needs!
Have you recently graduated with a Psychology degree? Or have a keen interest in Psychology?
Do you have a passion for Education and Supporting those around you?
Here at Teaching Personnel we work in Partnership with Schools all across South Wales and we are currently looking for confident and proactive Psychology graduates that are able to motivate and engage with children in a secondary school environment.
Your role as a teaching assistant allows you to become a role model for the child that you are assigned to support. As a support function to the teaching staff your role may vary as the pupil's needs may all differ. Ranging from aspergers, ADHD, learning difficulties to visually impaired. Being an adaptable individual it is paramount that you can understand behaviour management and also have the ability to build relationships and rapport with the pupils that you work with.
Your role:
-Utilise your psychology skills in a classroom setting
-Support Teacher within the classroom
-Possibilities to Coach your own intervention sessions
-Keep pupils engaged and motivated
-Working in small groups and 1 to 1

In the past we have found that psychology graduates have worked really well in the role of Teaching Assistant. Psych grads will often have the transferable skills that will give you a great advantage in a classroom setting.
