Because of it’s surrounding area, the school is instantly regarded as being ‘tough’ or ‘challenging’ with its behaviour. This school is living proof that low socio-economic income area does not reflect on the attitudes to learning the pupils who attend The behavioural ethos of the school has completely transformed since it’s local prolific status twenty-years ago.

The school enrols a large number of pupils with statements, medical needs and Non-English Speakers who will have separate ALN numeracy interventions for the most part, but a firm and confident grasp of ALN would be beneficial here. Behaviour, although on the up, is like the majority of schools- the pupils have suffered from a lack of consistency, constantly changing supply teachers (waiting for COVID tests, those shielding and of course all the other illnesses and regular ailments that strike this time of year, plus countless other factors which means that the demand for core subjects has never been higher.
