Behaviour Buddy - 1-1 Support - North Somerset - Full Time

Location: North Somerset
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm

We are working with a primary school in North Somerset who are looking for a Behaviour Buddy to work 1-1 with a child with additional needs. The school is keen to hear from people who can build a trusting relationship with the child, stay calm and consistent, and help them manage their emotions and behaviour throughout the school day.

The Role:

• Providing dedicated 1-1 support to a child with additional needs
• Building a strong, trusting and positive relationship with the child
• Using positive behaviour strategies to encourage self-regulation and good choices
• Supporting the child to access classroom learning and stay engaged with activities
• Helping with transitions, unstructured times and daily routines
• Supporting social skills, communication and emotional regulation
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress

We Are Looking For:

• Experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH or behavioural needs in a school setting (essential)
• A calm, patient and consistent approach
• Resilience and the ability to stay positive and composed in challenging situations
• Experience using positive behaviour strategies (desirable)
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
