Person Specification - Primary Teaching Assistant

The ideal new Primary Teaching Assistant will be a creative graduate who has experience working in a school and have an impressive academic record and a 2:1 or better in your degree. The new Primary Teaching Assistant will be a graduate who can provide a warm, positive environment through your upbeat attitude and encouraging approach. The perfect candidate will be able to show their pupils support through the social and emotional aspects of school life.

About the Teaching Assistant role

This Primary Teaching Assistant position involves working in different functions across the whole school and you will be helping to organise and plan lessons. You will be given the chance to lead small groups of pupils of varying ability, helping struggling pupils reach their targets and accelerating the progress of those who are gifted and talented. The new Primary Teaching Assistant will be adding your own teaching flair to lessons as you lead small classes of pupils on your own.

The senior leadership team are careful to discuss career goals and aspirations with all members of staff in order to implement a useful training and CPD and training plan that will address the needs of individual employees. The new Primary Teaching Assistant will be proving you have the ambition, dedication and talent to teach effectively which could lead to an offer of a School Direct Placement from the school's senior leadership team.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
