Teaching Assistant
Job description
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Christchurch is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
This is an excellent opportunity for a committed individual who is passionate about supporting young people in achieving their full potential within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.
The Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to provide targeted support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role may involve:

Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs
-
Assisting in the delivery of tailored interventions
-
Supporting students with EHCPs and varying learning needs
-
Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
-
Helping to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
The position is to start ASAP and is full-time, during term time.
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Has experience working with secondary-aged students (school-based experience desirable)
-
Has experience supporting students with SEN (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties)
-
Is patient, adaptable and resilient
-
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or a graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching or educational psychology.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
