Teaching Assistant – Weymouth
Fixed-Term Contract – Start ASAP (Through to Summer 2026)
Are you passionate about supporting children’s learning and helping them flourish both academically and emotionally? A warm and welcoming school in Weymouth is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team and play a key role in pupils’ day‑to‑day success.
This is a fixed‑term post running until the end of the Summer Term 2026, with the potential to continue into the next academic year.
About the Role
The successful candidate will:
- Provide individual and small‑group support to help pupils make strong progress
- Encourage confidence, independence, and positive wellbeing
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver engaging learning activities
- Help maintain a nurturing, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment
- Support children with both their academic work and their social development

- Bring patience, empathy, and a positive attitude to the role
- Have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team

Experience working in a school is beneficial, though individuals hoping to begin or develop a career in education are also encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
