Job description

A welcoming and forward-thinking mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their successful department from the Easter term.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 teaching for the right candidate. The school prides itself on its supportive leadership team, strong community ethos and commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified English Teacher (QTS or equivalent)

  • Have experience teaching English Language and English Literature at KS3 and KS4

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management skills

  • Show a commitment to raising attainment and supporting student progress

  • Be able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners

  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply, and will be well supported by an experienced and collaborative English department.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
