Job description

A thriving and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join their successful English department from April 2026 (or sooner by negotiation). This position is available on a full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner to inspire a love of reading, writing, and literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate. The successful applicant will join a supportive and forward-thinking department committed to delivering a rich and engaging curriculum that enables all students to achieve their full potential.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Have experience teaching English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4

  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English

  • Have the ability to engage and motivate learners of all abilities

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic achievement

  • Be committed to contributing to the wider life of the school

This role would suit both experienced teachers and ambitious Early Career Teachers looking to develop their practice within a supportive secondary setting.
