Primary School Teacher (NQT’s)

Location: Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan

Salary: GBP138.56 a day

To start: Summer term

Ages:Foundation phase - Key stage 2

Qualification needed:PGCE Primary / BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting NQT’s for September 2021 to work in the Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan area. We offer a variety of positions to suit our partner school’s needs, such as full-time, part-time and day to day roles. Throughout your time at Teaching Personnel, you will receive support from a dedicated and specialist consultant who endeavours to aid you with finding the right role and supporting you within your current roles by providing feedback and so forth.

Here at Teaching Personnel, we understand that many student teacher’s courses were disrupted owing to COVID-19. That is why we have created an NQT pool (similar to the old LEA pool) available to all schools in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The NQT Pool is a programme designed to give Newly Qualified Teachers access to thousands of schools across Wales and England. As you search for your first teaching job, Teaching Personnel provides support building your NQT profile, interviewing, training, tips, advice and more!

The NQT pool also offers additional training to help you throughout your NQT year. All in all you will receive a training pack in 6 different areas. Each pack contains six hours of content aligned to both the Teacher standards and Early Career Framework. The packs are as follows:

  • Pedagogy and Practice: This pack will support your classroom practice and help you promote pupil progress by applying an understanding of the way children learn.
  • Curriculum: This pack will support you in delivering the National Curriculum and help you design effective schemes of work by applying subject specific knowledge.
  • Assessment: This pack will support the use of effective and appropriate methods of assessment to promote pupil progress and improve outcomes.
  • Behaviour: This pack will build on your behaviour management techniques to set high expectations and create a supportive learning environment for all pupils.
  • Special Educational Needs: This pack will help you to develop inclusive practice to support all pupils effectively including those with special educational needs
  • Professional Behaviours: This pack supports you in fulfilling wider school responsibilities as you develop effective professional relationships with parents and colleagues.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
