What is the Future Teachers Programme?

The Future Teachers Programme is a scheme across England and Wales, which is designed to aid the current Teacher shortage, by attracting and supporting graduates who are looking to pursue a career in teaching but wish to gain paid school based experience before starting a teacher training course.

How does it work?

Your journey will begin working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis at one of our client primary schools across the South of Manchester for up to a year. As a Graduate TA you will fulfil a range of tasks to get an understanding of what it would be like to be a teacher. This includes supporting pupils across all activities throughout their studies, in small groups  and 1:1, to assisting class teachers from all departments. You will have the chance to work with teachers in your specialism and get involved with planning/delivering your own lessons!

Upon the successful completion of your 1 year experience as a graduate teaching assistant, you’re school based teacher training programme will begin. Either within a lead training school, or you can go on to apply for your own PGCE.

You can then progress on with the same school to do your teaching training on site. Best of all, you will be enhancing your confidence, subject knowledge and teaching ability before beginning your training!

Am I eligible to apply for the Future Teacher Programme?

If interested in our Future Teachers Programme, applicants must be educated to degree level or have completed your degree by Summer 2021. School’s welcome applications from graduates across all subjects, including English, Maths, Science, Psychology, Education Studies and History etc.

To become successful in achieving a place on our Future Teachers Programme, applicants must have a genuine desire to become a Primary Teacher and must be willing to commit to the programme on a full-time basis Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pmfrom September 2021 until July 2022.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
