Primary SEN Teaching Assistants

We are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our welcoming and inclusive primary schools within the Salford area. About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
- Assisting with classroom activities, learning tasks, and transitions.
- Supporting children with needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and social/emotional needs.
- Helping to implement EHCPs and individual learning plans.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Caring, calm, and committed to inclusive education.
- Observant and able to respond to individual needs sensitively.
- Reliable, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing classroom dynamics.
- Experienced in working with children in an educational or care setting (preferred but not essential).
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A valid Enhanced DBS for both Child and Adult Workforce, registered on the Update Service.
- Two professional references from the past two years, ideally from education or childcare settings.
- A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive.
- Safeguarding training (Provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
