We’re looking for dedicated individuals who wants to make a real difference to the lives of young people with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll be supporting either Primary 4-11 or Secondary 11-18 students with needs ranging from Moderate to Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (MLD–PMLD), Autism (ASC), and other complex learning, communication, and medical needs. Opportunities are available across age groups and locations, a dedicated consultant from Teaching Personnel will discuss and match opportunties to your career goals.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1:1 Support You’ll build meaningful relationships with individual students, helping them engage with learning, manage routines, develop independence, and regulate emotions. You might support communication, mobility, or personal care depending on the student’s needs.
Classroom Support – You’ll assist the class teacher and other staff in delivering adapted learning to small groups and the whole class. You’ll help create a safe, engaging and structured environment where every child has the opportunity to succeed.
Daily Problem Solving – No two days are the same. Whether it’s finding creative ways to explain a concept or offering quiet reassurance during sensory overload, you’ll be flexible, observant and compassionate.
Being a Steady Presence – Many of our students thrive on consistency and calm. Your patience, empathy and reliability will be key to helping them feel safe and supported.
Who This Role Is For:
This role doesn’t require formal qualifications, but we do ask that you have experience supporting children or young people, particularly those with additional needs. That could be through work, volunteering, family life or other care-related roles. .

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
