Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant – Rochdale
Location: Rochdale
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Contract: Full-time
Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in the Rochdale area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to students with additional needs. The children you will be supporting have a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, Speech, Language and Communication needs, Sensory processing difficulties and challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning needs.
- Assist teachers in differentiating lessons for pupils with SEN.
- Support students with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Help implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) effectively.
- Promote inclusive learning environments and encourage student engagement.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to the SENCO and teaching staff.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting students with SEN in a school setting.
- Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- At least two employment references covering the last 24 months
- Safeguarding training (provided by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
