Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs in a primary school setting? We’re currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our welcoming and inclusive primary schools in the Rochdale area. You will be supporting children who have additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, Multiple Learning Disabilities, Speech and Language delays and challenging behaviour.

About the Role:

  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
  • Supporting pupils during whole-class activities
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and routines
  • Preparing learning materials and resources
  • Supervising pupils during break and lunch times
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils
  • Supporting communication and social interaction
  • Using visual aids, sensory tools, and structured routines
  • Promoting independence and confidence in learning

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting
  • A patient, resilient and nurturing approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
