Are you a patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic individual looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs?

We are looking for dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistants to work in one of our specialist Primary schools in the Rochdale area. You will be playing a vital role in supporting children with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, Communication challenges, learning disabilities and high anxiety. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a passionate team and support pupils who need a little extra help to thrive in their learning journey.


About the Role:

As an SEN TA, you’ll be supporting primary-aged children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social or emotional challenges. Your role will be centred around creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering individualised support to pupils with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence
  • Supporting children with communication, sensory and behavioural needs using tailored strategies
  • Assisting with daily routines, transitions and classroom activities
  • Promoting emotional wellbeing, independence and positive social interactions
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to implement EHCPs and personalised learning plans
  • Creating a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment where children can flourish

This role is ideal for someone who is resilient, nurturing, and passionate about helping children overcome challenges and reach their full potential.


✅ Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • An Enhanced Child & Adult DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training
  • References covering the last 24 months
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN or primary school setting
  • Right to work in the UK
