Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

Are you a recent psychology graduate looking to gain experience in an education setting?

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for psychology graduates to take on teaching assistant roles in specialist secondary schools in Manchester full-time starting as soon as possible. 

The schools work with students with SEN and SEMH needs, where students will need additional support to ensure they are progressing at a steady rate. You will be involved with supporting teachers to monitor behaviour, ensure lessons go ahead as planned, and providing individualised support for the students that you will build a relationship with.

Within these roles you will:

• Creating a happy and safe learning environment for each student to thrive within
• Helping students to focus on their work and progress at a good rate
• Provide feedback to teachers, other support staff and parents to create a cohesive team of staff within the school
• Work closely with students on EHCPs to ensure the terms of these plans are being met
• Understand and de-escalate different challenging behaviours
• Take part in different training sessions within the school to ensure that you are consistently learning and improving how you work

For these roles you should:

• Be able to work with secondary aged children who have additional needs
• Have some experience working with children
• Have a degree or be graduating this year
• Be available full-time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
