Salary: £89.83 per day

Teaching Personnel is looking for a caring and dedicated Primary ALN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly school based in the Pontypridd area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s learning journey.
Your Role as a Teaching Assistant
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs—both within the classroom and in smaller group or one-to-one sessions. You'll work closely with class teachers and SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to pupils with ALN/SEN
- Assist in delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning activities
- Encourage positive behaviour and social development
- Support children’s emotional and academic progress
- Prepare classroom materials and help maintain an organised learning space
- Work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals
- Provide personal care and ensure pupils' safety and well-being when required
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting children or young people (especially with ALN/SEN) is desirable but not essential
- A patient, caring, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine interest in child development and education
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are an advantage but not required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
