Playworker - After School Club

Teaching Personnel work with a Multi-Academy Trust in South Sheffield and we are currently looking for Playworkers to support the schools covering After school club. The schools are all easy to access by public transport, but ideally you would own a car to travel across the schools. We can offer work to fit around you and your existing commitments.

As a Playworker, you will support schools 2:45pm - 6pm. Playworkers are expected to provide a caring, secure environment, through individual attention and group activities, and to organise appropriate range of leisure activities for children between the ages of 4-11. You will promote the safeguarding and welfare of the children, staff and parents/carers, this will include ensuring that children are following behaviour policies. You will lead or supervise safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities including craft and team building games. Playworkers will create a safe, inclusive environment and promote the Schools Values.

Our ideal Play Leader will:

  • have experience supervising children from EYFS - Y6
  • have led play based activities in a similar role or with their own children
  • be First Aid Trained (not essential)
  • be able to promote the welfare and safety of children in their care

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
