PECS Specialist Teaching Assistant job

Your new company
You will be working in a mainstream primary school based in Camden which has built up an excellent reputation in the surrounding area with parents and other schools. The school prides itself on its outstanding education and lessons and ensures that no child is left behind.

Your new role
You will be supporting a child with ASD in a reception class both inside and outside the classroom by offering communication support, academic support and emotional support to the child. In order to support the child in their day to day activities you will use communication tools such as PECS and Visual Timetables so it is imperative that you have a firm understanding of these tools. You will also adhere to the child's routine by working closely with the Visual Timetables and the child's Work Station to ensure stability throughout the day. You will closely with the SENCo to ensure that the support you are offering is continuing to be effective and tailored to any progress made.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will have previous experience of supporting children with SEN, be confident in the use of PECS and other such communication tools, have excellent references and be a confident and resilient Specialist Teaching Assistant.
