Full time Physical Education (PE) Teaching Assistant required for a Salford Secondary school from November 2018, until the end of the academic year 2018/2019.

Due to a demand within the PE department across Key Stages 3/4 this Ofsted rated 'Good' Secondary school are seeking to appoint a dynamic PE Teaching Assistant to support pupils within their growing faculty.

If you are a PE specialist with previous experience working with young people and wish to gain valuable experience in support of a possible future teacher training course then please see the details below.

  • Full time PE Teaching Assistant position, from November 2018.
  • Ofsted rated 'Good' Secondary school based in Swinton, Salford.
  • Gain valuable hands-on experience within an education capacity with access to CPD training programmes.
  • Must hold a minimum of a degree level qualification or equivalent alongside prior experience working with young people.
  • Earn up to £1200 per month.

This over subscribed 'Good' Secondary school is based in the Swinton area of Salford, with just over 1000 pupils on roll, aged 11-16. The school has been noted for their outstanding practice, and staff community culture, which encourages all pupils to take advantage of all available opportunities.

PE is a core part of the curriculum that contributes to the development and enjoyment of pupils. This provides pupils the opportunities to develop skills which can be applied to many areas of the curriculum and throughout everyday life.

The incoming PE Teaching Assistant will be required to;

  • Work alongside the class teacher supporting within the PE department.
  • Deliver dynamic PE Lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • General cover responsibilities will need to be completed due to the flexible nature of the role.
  • Promote school behaviour policies, vision and values.

Salford is easily accessible via links such as the A580 (East Lancashire Road) and the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Wigan. There are also various public transport options readily available.
