Job description

We have a Secondary PE Teacher Position (Full time & Long term) within a Key Stage 3 Pupil Referral Unit (behaviour).


The role will commence in January. It is essential that this person has worked with kids with SEMH/ behavioral needs and that is willing to drive a people carrier as most of our PE is done offside. (So needs a valid driving Licence).


The PE Lessons will be with small groups of children aged 11-14 years old, mixed gender and mixed abilities.

Teaching and lesson management Plan and deliver lessons in a variety of sports and physical activities to suit different ages and abilities. Inspire students to adopt and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Teach skills, tactics, and strategies for a range of sports. Improve students' physical coordination, strength, and endurance. Assess student progress, set assignments, and mark work. Monitor and record student performance and attainment. Discuss student progress with parents and carers. Celebrate student achievements and provide feedback. Safety and welfare Ensure a high-quality, safe learning environment for all students. Supervise students during practical lessons, including indoor and outdoor activities. Ensure that students are not exposed to unnecessary injury or illness. Adhere to school policies and statutory guidance on safeguarding and child protection.


Pay scale will be paid in line with the role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
