Pastoral Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking for a Pastoral Teaching Assistant for a secondary behavioural school in the Southampton Fawley/Totton area. The school has a focus on supporting and guiding their students, engaging them in life-long learning experiences, and building their capacity to make a positive contribution to society. You will be working alongside a great team of experienced teachers and pastoral staff.

The candidate we are looking for will have:

  • Knowledge of drivers behind behaviour
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to support pupils in their individual education plans
  • Engaging approach with pupils on an individual and group basis

For this role you will be required to prepare and deliver various pastoral activities to young people who demonstrate challenging behaviour, due to their background or other environmental factors.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
