Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in the Hull area. This school received a 'Good' Ofsted grading in May 2017 and is placed within the top 20% of schools nationally.

We are seeking a candidate who is well qualified and enthusiastic to join a very supportive pastoral team. This post is to begin Easter 2019 and you would be required to work 37 hour per week.

Your principle accountabilities will be inclusive of:

Pastoral Care/ Support

  • Attending meetings/ reviews
  • Support and work collaboratively with Pastoral Leaders
  • Ensure pastoral care and safeguarding of students are paramount

Internal Exclusion Supervision

  • Supervising students placed in Internal Exclusion Plus or isolation and ensuring that students are meeting appropriate standards
  • Organising and collating work for students and ensuring that the work is returned to teachers
  • Assisting students with work when difficulties over understanding are presented

Anti-bullying Co-ordinator

  • Co-ordinate bullying logs and put in place packages of support for bullying victims
  • To contact the parents of victims of bullying and carry out follow up contact with parents
  • Keep up to date with anti-bullying campaigns and literature to provide appropriate material for assemblies and anti-bullying campaigns in schools

It is essential the successful candidate has the following:

  1. Ability to build and form good relationships with students, parents/carers and colleagues
  2. Good verbal and written communication skills
  3. Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities
  4. Qualifications/ training in child protection and safeguarding practices
  5. Working knowledge of behaviour management strategies
  6. Desire to enhance and develop skills and knowledge through CPD
  7. An Enhanced Child Only DBS registered with the Update Service (can apply through Teaching Personnel)

Job Title: Pastoral Support/ Internal Exclusion Supervisor/ Anti-bullying Co-ordinator

Contract: Term time only - 37 hours per week (plus 5 training days)

Salary: £18,672 per annum (pro-rata)
