Teaching Personnel have been approached by a Pupil Referral Unit in Leyland who require an Outreach Worker to add to their growing team. The school caters for boys aged 11-16 who have SEMH difficulties and do not thrive in mainstream education. Many pupils who attend this school can display challenging behaviours and struggle to regulate their emotions.

As a Outreach Worker, you will be required to supervise the pupils throughout the school day, encourage the pupils to engage with their education, build rapport with the pupil, be a role model, help the pupils to understand why their education is important. The role is with a view to integrate the pupils into the main school and join their cohort with a more varied curriculum. You may also be required to assist with transport and educate offsite.

The school would be interested in a candidate who has previous experience supporting children who display challenging behaviours. They would also consider applications from Sports Coaches, Carers, Residential support workers, Youth Workers and those with the experience within the Prison system or the Military.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
