Nursery Manager – Full-Time, Permanent
Location: York
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (based on experience)

We’re looking for a dedicated Nursery Manager to lead a warm and welcoming early years setting in York — a place where children, families, and staff can truly thrive.
About the Role
As Nursery Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the nursery — guiding your team, ensuring exceptional care, and delivering high-quality early years education. You’ll bring energy, creativity, and professionalism to every part of the role, working closely with parents, Ofsted, and external partners to maintain the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the nursery, including staffing and scheduling

Provide supportive and motivational leadership to your team

Drive continuous improvement in learning, care, and compliance

Ensure adherence to EYFS, Ofsted, and health & safety standards

Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and professionals

Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for every child
Qualifications & Experience
-
Minimum Level 3 in Childcare (essential) — BA (Hons) or Advanced Practitioner an advantage

Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a leadership or management role

Excellent working knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted frameworks

Understanding of health & safety, equality, and inclusion practices

GCSE Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent qualification

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
